Description

Status 08.08.2024 Important Information: Integration of Vaillant Heat Pumps via EEBUS

Vaillant is planning an update in mid-August which will change the communication via EEBUS, thus the integration into Loxone. As soon as this has been installed, the sensors and actuators must be taught into the Loxone system again.

We have already prepared everything to support you. Once the corresponding update of the heat pump has been installed, the Miniserver recognizes the problem and reports a corresponding error with information on what to do.

For this to be possible, the EEBUS plug-in must be running on the latest version. This is ensured by updating the Miniserver to version 15.1. Please make sure that your customer projects are updated so that you can react accordingly.

Important changes in the communication protocol after reconnecting on the new firmware VR920, VR921:

- Hot water operating mode: OLD(0:off, 1: auto, 2: on) - NEW(0:auto, 1:on, 2:off) - HC1/3 operating mode: OLD(0:off, 1: auto, 2:on) - NEW(0:auto, 1:on, 2:off)

Changes have been made in de example config

This Template allows you to control your Vaillant System with the VR920, VR921 or VR940f Gateway over EE-Bus.

- The VR920 + VR921 gateways are the "older" Gateways, these can be found in existing systems and are WLAN and LAN capable. - The VR940f is the latest Gateway of Vaillant that only has a WLAN connection. - Since ! 01.04.2024 ! All Gateway models must be configured with the "myVaillant" App. The "Senso App" and "MultiMatic" App has already been switched off by Vaillant and are no longer available. - All Vaillant appliances with a "multiMATIC VRC700 and sensoCOMFORT VRC 720" operation units are EE-Bus compatible! It does not matter whether they are connected to a heat pump or to a gas or oil boiler. - With Loxone Config Version 12 or higher and the latest Miniserver, Loxone supports the EEBUS interface for ‘HVAC’. This means that devices from Vaillant that offer this protocol can be connected to and controlled via Loxone.

Please note that the "Miniserver GEN1" is not supported!

The choice of paring Vaillant Systems with Loxone offers the possibility of:

- integrating demand-based heating and cooling depending on e.g. presence or the protection of open windows - Active integration in interaction with e.g. PV- systems in a Loxone Energy Management - Using flexible electricity tariffs with the Spot Price Optimizer. - Use statistics ore individual notifications - Create your own individual schematics - Reduce cycles and operating hours of your Vaillant e.g. Heatpumps - Integration in Hybrid systems like Oil, Gas, Pellet, PV direct heaters - Create e.g. yearly operation goals like certain annual runtime forces for hybrid systems e.g. (Heatpump 60% amount of energy, Gas heater 40% amount of energy) to fulfill the requirements of your local government. - Grid management according to §14a ENWG in Germany - In addition to the electrical power, the current and total thermal energy can also be visualized via the Loxone Energy Flow Monitor. To the compact overview for e.g. contractors. - Influence on the hot water circulation pump by controlling via the presence detectors. - Increased security through leakage detection or activation of IP cameras in the plant room.

Commissioning Vaillant VR920 or VR921 or VR940f:

- Please note that Vaillant is converting the Senso app and the multiMATIC app to the myVaillant app. The sensoAPP and multiMATIC app will be discontinued after 31.03.2024 and will therefore no longer be usable! Further information can be found on the Vaillant homepage. - If you need Vaillant documents for installing, commissioning or to check compatibility please contact your Vaillant partner. If you need general informations please visit the Vaillant Homepage. - The following step is necessary to establish communication between Vaillant and Loxone: Please follow the instructions of: EEBus Configuration Example

With our step by step manual for collecting the heating or cooling demand and forwarding it to the Vaillant System, we enable the interaction of the individual room control with the Central Heating/Cooling System of Vaillant. Please take a look on the Loxone Config Sample File in the Library download area.
