Description
This template allows you to control your Stiebel Eltron WPM >3 with the ISG Web over Modbus TCP.
- With the ISG (InternetServiceGateway) Web add-on device, compatible heatpump units from Stiebel Eltron can be connected to the Modbus TCP/IP network. - With an additional chargeable software update from Stiebel Eltron, the ISG also receives the Modbus TCP/IP interface. Newer versions of the ISG web already have this interface integrated.
The choice of paring Stiebel Eltron systems with Loxone offers the possibility of:
- integrating demand-based heating and cooling depending on e.g. presence or the protection of open windows - Active integration in interaction with e.g. PV- systems in a Loxone Energy Management - Using flexible electricity tariffs with the Spot Price Optimizer. - Use statistics ore individual notifications - Create your own individual schematics - Reduce cycles and operating hours of your Stiebel Eltron heating/cooling device. - Combining hybrid solutions e.g. Heatpump and PV- Heating element in your Hot Water Storage - Create e.g. yearly operation goals like certain annual runtime forces for hybrid systems e.g. (Heatpump 60% amount of energy, Gas heater 40% amount of energy) to fulfill the requirements of your local government. - Grid management according to §14a ENWG in Germany - In addition to the electrical power, the current and total thermal energy can also be visualized via the Loxone Energy Flow Monitor. To the compact overview for e.g. contractors. - Influence on the hot water circulation pump by controlling via the presence detectors. - Increased security through leakage detection or activation of IP cameras in the plant room.
With our step by step manual for collecting the heating or cooling demand and forwarding it to the WPM e.g. ISG, we enable the interaction of the individual room control with the central heating/cooling system Stiebel Heatpump. Please take a look on the Loxone Config sample file in the Library download area.

Stiebel Eltron helpcenter, download area and Compatibility:
- If you need technical datas from the WPM heatpump manager, please follow the link to the Stiebel Eltron WPM International.
- If you need technical datas from the ISG web, please follow the link to the Stiebel Eltron ISG Web.
Various documents are only accessible to Stiebel Eltron specialist partners. In this case, please contact your Stiebel Eltron partner or salesperson.
- If you need the modbus instruction that is locked on the download center, please take a look in the download area of this template. The current document version must be cross-checked with the Stiebel partner. - Before purchasing the ISG gateway, please discuss the Compatibility with your Stiebel partner. There are different WPM control generations:
1. The WPM 1 +2 = was used to operate the heat pumps with ON/OFF compressors. 2. The WPM 3 was then the next generation of the WPM, with which the old heat pumps and some inverter heat pumps could still be operated. 3. The WPM i3 (the i stands for integrated) is mainly used in brine and water heat pumps. These heat pumps do not have their own IWS (electronics), which is integrated in the WPM i(iw). 4. The current WPM 4(system) can also be used for most of the old HPs. Otherwise, all inverter heat pumps are operated with the WPM 4.
Attention to Compatibility: An ISG web can be installed and operated from WPM 3 onwards, with WPM II you must check the software version to see whether an ISG can be used!
UseCase: Integration of a Stiebel Eltron WPM Residential building with heating, warm water storage and heating circuits.
- Device Heatpump WPL-A 05 HK Premium - Warm water storage tank --> Controlled by Loxone - Heating/Cooling Buffer - Mixing circuit HC1 (e.g. radiators) --> Controlled by Loxone - Mixing circuit HC2 (e.g. ceiling heating/cooling)--> Controlled by Loxone

Hello what IO-adres are you looking for, did you check the additional downloads where the modbus documentation is, to see if this address is in the documentation?
pdf documents not downloadable
OpenHi, I'm trying to download the modbus manual and schematic overview pdf files, but both give me an 0kb empty file. The loxone project file does work.

Can I use the Stiebel Eltron libraries for Tecalor devices?
OpenWe are currently building a house and our subcontractor would like to use an air-to-water heat pump from Tecalor. Tecalor is a subsidiary of Stiebel Eltron and the devices are said to be identical in construction. So I am wondering whether the templates would also be compatible? I would appreciate your feedback.

Cooling mode enable
OpenHello, how do you enable the ability for the heat pump to also cool? It is not mentioned anywhere in the summary, but I can see a FE7 or FET unit (near the HC2 control in the diagram). Is this it? According to the Stiebel Eltron repair manuals, the cooling mode is disabled, unless FE7 o FET unit is connected the the heat pump. I was hoping that in the case everything is controlled over modbus, this requirement could be sidestepped, but apparently this is not the case. And if true, what is the suitable place to put that unit in case the Heat Circuit 1 spans the entire house? Thank you!
