Description

Optimise your energy with SolarEdge and Loxone

Want to make your home smarter and maximise energy efficiency at the same time? Integrating a SolarEdge inverter into your Loxone smart home system via API offers you exactly that!

Real-time monitoring of solar energy production: By connecting your SolarEdge inverter to your Loxone system, you can view the current solar energy production at any time. You can monitor and optimise the energy yield of your solar system in real time to exploit the full potential of your photovoltaic system.

Intelligent energy management: The integration allows you to utilise the solar power generated efficiently. You can set up automated processes that allow you to prioritise the use of self-generated electricity, for example by switching on your household appliances at certain times when the sun is shining and solar power is most available.

Transparent energy balance: Connecting your SolarEdge inverter to your Loxone smart home system provides you with a detailed analysis of your energy balance. You can compare the energy consumption of your home with the solar energy production and identify optimisation potential to lower your energy costs and reduce your ecological footprint.

Remote access and control: With the integration, you can monitor and control your SolarEdge inverter remotely via the Loxone system. You can check the status of your solar system and adjust settings if necessary to maximise performance or detect potential problems at an early stage.

Seamless integration into your smart home: The combination of SolarEdge and Loxone offers seamless integration into your smart home system. You can easily integrate the data from your inverter into your existing smart home processes and scenarios to realise holistic and efficient energy management.

By integrating your SolarEdge inverter into your Loxone smart home system via API, you benefit from intelligent energy management, transparent energy analyses and convenient remote access to your solar system. Make your home fit for the future of energy with SolarEdge and Loxone!

  1. Value request intervall

Is it true, that onely every 15 minutes "fresh" values can be collected from SE (Cloud) and there is a daily limit for API Requests? I mean for "live data" controls like EVH charging only with power from photovoltaic excess energy or heating up my water... I thnik this needs "near realtime" data. So has anxthing changed in that API since 2024?

    1. Hello Peter, There has been no recent change on the template done by LOXONE. But as this is a template that is using a cloud based API connection it can be that the manufacturer of the inverters has implemented some limitation on our site. This is one of the topics that needs to be considered when implementing 3th party systems over cloud API's there is no guarantee that this cloud integrations will keep running for this we always recommend to search for a local solution like modbus RTU/TCP or direct energy meters.

On the library there is a modbus TCP integration of SolarEdge.

If you want to be sure that there has been a request limitation set, we would recommend contacting SolarEdge to get this information as they are the ones that provide the cloud system.
