Description

This template allows you to control your Novelan Heatpump without Gateway over Modbus TCP. The Modbus RTU interface is only available for Novelan internal service purposes. The Novelan WPR-C is the control system for Air/Water, Brine/Water, Water/Water Heatpumps from Novelan.

The choice of paring Novelan systems with Loxone offers the possibility of:

- Integrating demand-based heating and cooling depending on e.g. presence or the protection of open windows - Active integration in interaction with e.g. PV- systems in a Loxone Energy Management - Using flexible electricity tariffs with the Spot Price Optimizer. - Use statistics ore individual notifications - Create your own individual schematics - Reduce cycles and operating hours of your Novelan Heatpump - Create e.g. yearly operation goals like certain annual runtime forces for hybrid systems e.g. (Heatpump 60% amount of energy, Gas heater 40% amount of energy) to fulfill the requirements of your local government. - Grid management according to §14a ENWG in Germany - In addition to the electrical power, the current and total thermal energy can also be visualized via the Loxone Energy Flow Monitor. To the compact overview for e.g. contractors. - Influence on the hot water circulation pump by controlling via the presence detectors. - Increased security through leakage detection or activation of IP cameras in the plant room.

To enable communication between the Novelan and Loxone, you must activate the Modbus server within the Novelan heatpump: The detailed description can be found in the Modbus instructions in the appendix. 1. Obtain the USB stick (one-off costs) from your Novelan partner. It contains a license and the software. 2. Download the "Novelan-GLT" software to be able to make settings 3. Activate the Modbus server using the Novelan GLT software Please note that some of the devices listed as compatible can only heat and do not offer a cooling function as described in the UseCase.

With our step by step manual for collecting the heating or cooling demand and forwarding it to the Novelan Lux, we enable the interaction of the individual room control with the central heating/cooling system of Novelan. Please take a look on the Loxone Config sample file in the Library download area.
