Description
Hoval with the TopTronic® E operating system can be connected to Loxone via multiple HovalConnect Gateways (GW). Please note that, starting in July 2026, we have enabled all Hoval gateways—whether "LAN", "Wi-Fi", "Modbus", "OPCUA", or "KNX" —to support the Modbus interface via an over-the-air update from HovalConnect. The RTU terminal block is included on the HovalConnect Modbus Gateway (article number 6049501) as standard, or can be ordered optionally from Hoval (article number 2062935). If you only need cost-effective integration via Modbus TCP, the HovalConnect LAN Gateway (article number 6049496) is sufficient! This means that all existing systems and new Hoval systems come with Loxone connectivity right out of the box, so there’s no need to purchase any additional hardware!
There are four different ways how to connect Hoval with Loxone: 1.Hoval Modbus TCP
2.Hoval Modbus RTU Gateway with Loxone Modbus Extension
3.Hoval Modbus RTU Gateway with a Loxone Modbus Air.
4.Hoval Modbus RTU Gateway with a Loxone Modbus Tree.
Depending on variation of your project you can choose between Miniserver, Miniserver Go or Miniserver Compact The Hoval TopTronic E (TTE) is a operating system for ventilation systems, Air/Water, Brine/Water, Water/Water Heatpumps, Gas, Oil and wood sources that are able to Heating and/or Cooling.

The choice of paring Hoval Ventilation Systems with Loxone offers the possibility of:
- Demand-based ventilation to increase energy efficiency. Only ventilate as much as is necessary based on the measured values of CO2, humidity, temperature, presence and window status in the rooms. These values can be used to control the speed of the HomeVent, e.g. in a poor value control. - Demand-based supply air and extract air control in the rooms through combination with external devices or the combination of Belimo VAV solutions thanks to Belimo Tree + Air. - In larger rooms or areas, average values for e.g. CO2, humidity or temperature can be formed by using several Tree or Air room comfort sensors. Improved control is achieved. - Integration into the energy management system or use of PV electricity, e.g. to ventilate the house free of charge at midday or in the afternoon and minimize the volume flow in the evening. - The HomeVent also communicates with the air conditioning unit thanks to Loxone AC Control. Actively increasing the volume flow for e.g. summer night cooling enables the rooms to be tempered without switching on the active air conditioning. - Use statistics or individual notifications - Create individual system schematics. - Blackoutsafe! Switch off the Ventilation if the Grid power fails e.g. emergency power is active to safe battery capacity.
Structure:
If one or more heat generators are in a CAN bus network with the HomeVent, one Modbus Gateway (6049501) is sufficient to control both systems by using different Modbus register addresses.

Please always use the following link for a actual Modbus documentation because Hoval is constantly updating the documentation and expanding data points. You can find the link to the modbus datapoints here: Modbus datapoint list - In addition to the data points of the UseCase to the Download Button, a english template of datapoints is also available in the download area of the Librarytemplate. - You can use the Hoval Modbus UseCase 5 & 7 for our ventilation template. - For Remote Support reasons trough Hoval SmartServices and automatic software updates (Bugfixings & new datapoints) of the Gateway, please connect your HovalConnect Gateway with HovalConnect.

Wärmetauscher bei Home Vent deaktivieren
OpenSehr geehrte Damen und Herren,
kann man über einen Modbus TCP Befehl den Rotationswärmetauscher bei der Home Vent deaktivieren bzw langsamer drehen? Dadurch könnte man eine passive Kühlung bei kalten Sommernächten realsieren. Leider konnte ich hierzu nichts in Ihrer Doku finden.

Hallo Herr Preissler,
Eine manuelle Regelung des Rotationswärmetauscher ist nicht möglich.
Durch die automatische Rotationswärmetauscherregelung bei der neben Luftvolumenstrom auch die Feuchtigkeit geregelt wird, ermöglicht es den Geräten ohne Kondensatablauf auszukommen.
Würde man diese Regelung manuell umgehen wäre dies nicht mehr gewährleistet.
Es gibt in den erweiterten Serviceebenen allerdings diverse settings, die es ermöglichen bis zu einer gewissen Grenze kältere Luft besonders in den Sommermonaten einströmen zu lassen. Die Kühllast ist hier natürlich sehr begrenzt aufgrund des Taupunktes und ist somit auch keine Alternative für eine Klimaanlage bzw. eine aktive Kühlung.

Steuerung ohne TopTronic® E RaumbedienModule

Die Anleitung beschreibt eine Ansteuerung mit dem TopTronic® E RaumbedienModule. Durch das Touchpanel mit der Loxone App wird ein zusätzliches Bedienmodul überflüssig. Gibt es die Möglichkeit HomeVent direkt anzusteuern?

Hallo,
Grundsätzlich ist es so dass die Modbus Datenpunktliste nicht alle CAN Bus Parameter abdeckt, daher wäre es besonders zu Service und Diagnosezwecken ratsam trotzdem ein Bedienmodul von Hoval zu verbauen.
Dies ist im ersten Schritt auch notwendig um die Modbussettings bei RTU&TCP sowie die Netzwerksettings bei TCP einzustellen.
Daher ist die Investition in ein Hoval Bedienmodul immer sinnvoll.
Wir haben erst vor ein paar Tagen in den Anhängen dieses Templates eine "Praxisanleitung Hoval-Loxone" ergänzt, das das handling mit den Datenpunkten sehr gut beschreibt.
Alle Datenpunkte finden Sie in der Modbusdatenpunktliste die in der Modbusgateway Montageanleitung auf der Seite 14 verlinkt ist, für Ihren individuellen Anwendungsfall.

VOC Extract Air
OpenGuten Tag.
Wir haben mehrere Hoval Homevent in Betrieb, immer mit dem Modbus Gateway. Die Steuerung funktioniert einwandfrei. Nur ein einziges Register 23628 VOC Extract Air kann ich nicht abrufen. Ich erhalte den Wert 0 oder Werte bis maximal 20. Aber auf dem Hoval Bediengerät werden 520 ppm angezeigt.

OpenHallo, Guten Tag kann ich HOVAL HomeVent® comfort ER 300 an Loxone anbinden? Wenn ja. Was brauche ich um dies zu realisieren? Ist Kommunikation Protokoll fertig gestellt. Vielen dank Gruss Vassil Haralamov PS: ich habe mal schön von drei tage geschrieben. Aber habe keine Antwort bekommen.

Hallo,
Im Dokument "Praxisanleitung Hoval Loxone" ist eine sehr detaillierte Anleitung sowie ein Programmierbeispiel eines HomeVent ER beschrieben.
Ebenso wird im Webinar sowie dem Sample File ein Beispiel beschrieben.
Das Kommunikationsprotokoll ist wahlweise entweder Modbus TCP oder Modbus RTU.

Modbus Schnittstellenaktivierung funktioniert nicht

Ich habe leider nur ein LAN Gateway, kann zwar am Hoval Display den Menüpunkt "Modbus" auswählen, es erscheinen aber keine Modbus Einstellparameter wie Protokoll (TCP oder RTU), Baudrate oder Parität.
An was kann das liegen?
Benötige ich nun extra ein HovalConnect Modbus Gateway?

Hallo,
Über die Aufschaltung bzw. Registrierung der Anlage bei HovalConnect erhält das HovalConnect Gateway over the air automatisch Softwareupdates.
Im letzten Softwareupdate (Release Juli 2026) mit der Softwareversion 2.39.XX haben wir die Modbus Schnittstelle an allen HovalConnect Gateways (LAN, WLAN, KNX, OPCUA) freigeschaltet.
Das bedeutet Hoval Bestandsanlagen haben über das kostenlose Softwareupdate eine Modbus Schnittstelle erhalten und können ohne dem Einsatz eines teureren HovalConnect Modbus Gateway mit Loxone Miniserver gekoppelt werden.
Nach dem Softwareupdate werden also die Parameter im Menüpunkt "Modbus" sichtbar und es wird lediglich ein kosteneffizientes "LAN" Gateway benötigt, um die Konnektivität mit Loxone herzustellen.
Hoval ermöglicht durch die schnittstellenoffene Strategie über Hoval Integrate also die Konnektivität mit PV-Anlagen, Batteriespeicher, Wallboxen, PV-Heizstäben, dynamischen Stromtarifen, Netzdienlicher Steuerung (§14a), Lastmanagement, Energiegemeinschaften, Einzelraumregelungen, Bedarfsgeführter Erzeugung, Wettereinflüsse, Virtuellen Kraftwerken und vieles mehr!
