Hoval Energy Management
Content languageEnglish
Description
What is the aim of the Energy Management Template?
- Quite simply, we want to connect the Hoval Heatpump to an inverter like Solaredge or Fronius as easily as possible! - Quite secure, we don't want any faults on Hoval Heatpumps! The template is designed for operational safety.
What is the difference between the "Hoval Heating & Cooling Template" and the "Hoval Energy Management Template"? Operational safety
- The Heating & Cooling Template is a full integration of the Hoval system in Loxone. - The Heating & Cooling Template´s logic is responsible for the correct flow temperatures in the heating circuits and regulates the hot water temperature based on the logic. - If there are problems in the Heating & Cooling Template logic, the heating circuits or hot water preparation may be under- or oversupplied. - With the energy management template, we transmit a switch-on recommendation to the Hoval Heatpumps - If there are problems in the Energy Management Templates´s logic, the heating circuits and the hot water work just as reliably as before!
Hoval with the TopTronic® E operating system can be connected to Loxone via multiple HovalConnect Gateways (GW). Please note that, starting in July 2026, we have enabled all Hoval gateways—whether "LAN", "Wi-Fi", "Modbus", "OPCUA", or "KNX" —to support the Modbus interface via an over-the-air update from HovalConnect. The RTU terminal block is included on the HovalConnect Modbus Gateway (article number 6049501) as standard, or can be ordered optionally from Hoval (article number 2062935). If you only need cost-effective integration via Modbus TCP, the HovalConnect LAN Gateway (article number 6049496) is sufficient! This means that all existing systems and new Hoval systems come with Loxone connectivity right out of the box, so there’s no need to purchase any additional hardware!
There are four different ways how to connect Hoval with Loxone: 1.Hoval Modbus TCP
2.Hoval Modbus RTU Gateway with Loxone Modbus Extension
3.Hoval Modbus RTU Gateway with a Loxone Modbus Air.
4.Hoval Modbus RTU Gateway with a Loxone Modbus Tree.
Depending on variation of your project you can choose between Miniserver, Miniserver Go or Miniserver Compact The Hoval TopTronic E (TTE) is a operating system for Hoval District Heating, Air/Water, Brine/Water, Water/Water Heatpumps, Gas, Oil and wood sources that are able to heat or cool by stand alone or combining them to hybridsystems.
The Hoval Top Tronic E (TTE) is also able to operate his own Ventilation System. The Hoval Top Tronic E (TTE) is also able to communicate with the Hoval PV-Heater. The Hoval Top Tronic E (TTE) is is also controllable in a full integration with the Heating & Cooling Template.
The choice of paring Hoval Systems with Loxone over the Energy Management Template offers the possibility of:
- Communication with PV systems: Active integration in interaction with e.g. PV- Systems in a Loxone Energy Management - Reliability: Reliable datapoint selection so that the heatpump system cannot be impaired in its normal operation in the event of failure or malfunction. - Protection against constant switching on and off: The exclusive use of preferred operation and the use of a PV heating rod significantly reduces the heat pump's cycles and increases the service life of the system! - We are already taking care of: If you transmit excessive setpoints for the heating buffer cylinder or the heating circuits, but it is warm outside and there is no need for heating, the heat pump will NOT execute the offset setpoints! It knows the “heating limit” and the “outside temperature” into account, so to speak. - Analyzes: Use statistics or individual notifications to use Loxone as an analysis tool - Visualization: Create individual system schematics to use Loxone as a visualization tool

Questions and answers
Kann nur auslesen, aber keine Offsetwerte übermitteln.
OpenHallo,

OpenHallo,
Hallo,
