Description

Overview This comprehensive template helps you to read and modify any parameter of an Eastron SDM630-TCP energy meter. This meter supports Modbus/TCP, so it can communicate directly with a Loxone miniserver without any additional hardware.

Hardware setup In the meter DHCP is turned off by default, so you either need to turn on DHCP or configure a fixed IP address. More information can be found in the settings section of the manual, see below. You may also need to adjust the internal modbus communication speed to 57.600 baud. The menu can be found at the end of the settings, but is not included in the manual yet. It is called Set CoState and needs to be set to 0 / 5760.

Using the template The template includes all parameters that are available in the meter, however you should only include the parameters that you need in your Loxone config to avoid unnecessary communication overhead. All parameters have an index number included that matches the one in the manual. So it is easy to find the right parameter e.g. in screenshots. Parameters with watt (W) are converted to kilowatt (kW) in the template. This is done by using the build-in correction option in the Loxone config that are available for each parameter (e.g. 1000 is converted to 1).

Example configuration

The example shows how to connect a simple (unidirectional) meter in Loxone config:

Bidirectional example The next example shows how to connect a bidirectional meter with demand and delivery.
