Description
This template allows you to control your Daikin Heatpump with the Daikin HomeHub- EKRHH over Modbus TCP or Modbus RTU. There are three different ways how to connect Daikin with Loxone:
- Daikin Altherma 3+ HomeHub as TCP - Daikin Altherma 3+ HomeHub RTU with Loxone Modbus Extension - Daikin Altherma 3+ HomeHub RTU with a Loxone Modbus Air.
Depending on variation of your project you can choose between Miniserver, Miniserver Go or Miniserver Compact
- The template is prepared using "UseCase 3- Modbus TCP/IP or RTU for Daikin Altherma" regarding the Installation manual of the HomeHub. - You can find the compatibility of your Daikin heatpump in the HomeHub Reference Installation manual in the download area of the template.
The choice of paring Daikin systems with Loxone offers the possibility of:
- integrating demand-based heating and cooling depending on e.g. presence or the protection of open windows - Active integration in interaction with e.g. PV- systems in a Loxone Energy Management - Using flexible electricity tariffs with the Spot Price Optimizer. - Use statistics ore individual notifications - Create your own individual schematics - Reduce cycles and operating hours of your Daikin heatpump. - Create e.g. yearly operation goals like certain annual runtime forces for hybrid systems e.g. (Heatpump 70% amount of energy, Gas heater 30% amount of energy) to fulfill the requirements of your local government. - Grid management according to §14a ENWG in Germany - In addition to the electrical power, the current and total thermal energy can also be visualized via the Loxone Energy Flow Monitor. To the compact overview for e.g. contractors. - Influence on the hot water circulation pump by controlling via the presence detectors. - Increased security through leakage detection or activation of IP cameras in the plant room.
With our step by step manual for collecting the heating or cooling demand and forwarding it to the HomeHub, we enable the interaction of the individual room control with the central heating/cooling system of Daikin. Please take a look on the Loxone Config sample file in the Library download area.

- If you need Informations to the products, like manuals or contacts to Daikin branches please use the link to the international homepage from Daikin. Please note that various documents in the appendix are only accessible to Daikin partners and are therefore checked for the latest version with the Daikin partner. - A Daikin MMI2 firmware version of at least 7.3.0 or higher is required to use the HomeHub as Interface to Loxone. The Daikin HomeHub can be automatically updated over the internet to add features, solve security issues, or resolve bugs. To enable automatic updates, you must connect the Daikin HomeHub with the router or modem of your internet provider using a LAN cable. The Daikin HomeHub will automatically connect to the internet and receive firmware updates as soon as they become available. The Daikin HomeHub must be powered on to receive updates. - If you need informations how to configure the HomeHub, please follow the Installation manual beginning at side 39.
UseCase: Integration of a HomeHub- EKRHH Residential building with heating, Hot water storage and heating circuits.
- Device Air/Water Heatpump Daikin Altherma 3 H HT-MT ECH2O - Hot Water Storage tank --> Controlled by Loxone - Without Heating/Cooling Buffer - Mixing circuit heating/cooling HC1 (e.g. ceiling) --> Controlled by Loxone

Software version vom HomeHub war zu alt, nach dem Update durch einen Daikin Techniker läuft alles einwandfrei.
Guten Abend Mario Mayer,
LG

Hallo Emily

Hallo!

Daikin Altherma heat pumps can be controller over modbus this can be found in this upload: https://library.loxone.com/detail/daikin-dcom-gateways-for-altherma-modbus-eng-1568/overview
The LAN-Adapter supports IFFTT but this is not supported trough the loxone system. Please check this with your local Daiking dealership if there is other communication protocols supported on this device.
53 State Heating/Cooling Operation mode always ON
OpenHello,
The state of my head-pump on "Hot Water + Heating/Cooling" mode is always on "Operating", but in reality the head-pump isn't running. In "Hot Water Only" mode, the state switch between Operating and Idle/Buffering as expected.
No Heating and no Hot Water but the state is still on "Operating" Why is the "53 State Heating/Cooling Operation mode" is always ON, even when the pump isn't operating at all?
regards jacques

Hello Jacques,
I believe you are talking about the example config where 53 Wheater Operation Mode is connected to a constant value of 0 so this is following the documentation a fixed setpoint. This is do so the Loxone system can send the 1 and 2 Heatpump Heating/Cooling Target supply temperature.
The sending commands of the daikon heat pump do not have a function to disable the heating and cooling for 3 Heatpump Operation mode you can only select Auto, Heating, Cooling this means that the heat pump is always operational.
The 53 State heating/Cooling Operation mode will show than operational. If you switch to Hot Water only than the state wil go to Idle as expiated. The status block is reading to the value of the input. This means that the heat pump is sending this value. If you find the workings of this input not clear than we suggest contact daikin so they can further clarify why the heat pump is sending this value.
If you wand the status block to react to the off or to the climate controller central block we suggest adding the outputs from the blocks to the status block and adding extra rules so the state will be more dynamic.
ACS fork temperature
OpenHi, I've been looking into this and I'm not sure how to control the minimum domestic hot water temperature. Specifically, how do I control the storage tank's operating point so it starts before the temperature drops too low?
Thanks
