Loxone Library review guideline
We are convinced that the Loxone Library will change the way partners and customers integrate third-party products with Loxone. The Library lets you share your templates with the world, and we are excited that the community is an integral part of it.
To ensure quality, functionality, ease of use and safety, Loxone checks and approves every template submitted to the Library. This guideline introduces the rules and best practices for publishing a template successfully.
Language and naming
- Required: Template names and descriptions, as well as the template itself, have to be provided in English.
- Required: The name of the template has to state clearly which product it is for. If the template integrates more than one product, list them under supported devices.
- Required: Make sure the description includes all information needed to use the template.
Purpose and quality
- Required: Products and devices supported by a template must be safe to use in home and building environments and comply with common safety standards such as CE conformity, NRTL approval (UL, ETL), electrical safety and thermal protection.
- Not allowed: Products and devices supported by a template must not imitate core Loxone products such as the Miniserver and its Extensions.
- Required: Products and devices used in critical home and building infrastructure (such as base lighting, heating or security) must communicate through a reliable interface, so they work with the quality expected in professionally installed environments.
- Required: Test your template for full functionality.
Loxone reserves the right to reject or remove any template at any time without further notice.
Additional requirements for vendor templates
A template published as a vendor template must also meet these requirements:
- Required: The template comes with a matching Loxone Config example file.
- Required: The vendor provides support details (email address and phone number), which are listed in the Library.
- Required: The vendor keeps the template up to date, so it stays compatible with the vendor's device or system and with the Loxone system.
FAQ
I have put a lot of time into creating templates. Are you considering charging for templates?
The Loxone Library is and remains free of charge.
Whom do I contact if a template does not work or I do not know how to use it?
Every entry in the Library has a support section that names whom to contact when a template does not work. All templates are free of charge, so support may not be guaranteed.
